Cate Bower, BMus (Hons), ADPA

 

Cate is a singing teacher who specialises in vocal technique. With almost ten years of teaching experience, she is a graduate of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire where she completed her degree in Vocal and Operatic Studies in 2015. There, she studied under the tuition of Cathy Benson and regularly worked with some of the country’s best language and performance coaches. Performance credits include 'Mercedes' in Bizet's 'Carmen', 'Nora' in the world premiere of Michael Wolter's opera, 'Ava's Wedding' and ‘Salome’ in ‘San Giovanni Battista’ by Stradella. Cate has also had the honour to sing in many of the prestigious masterclasses at the Conservatoire with renowned musicians including Susan Bickley and Iain Burnside.

Cate has also been a member of various choirs such as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Preston Cecilian and CBSO Chorus working with conductors including Simon Halsey, Andris Nelsons and Edward Gardner. These have led her to performing at venues such as Preston Minster, the Bridgewater Hall, Symphony Hall and the Royal Festival Hall, a favourite performance being a concert with guest soloist, Welsh baritone, Bryn Terfel.
